TCAN Presents Loudon Rainwright III 1/16/2010

By:

Folk music Saturday January 16, 2010 - 8:00 PM Loudon Wainwright III

"Wainwright's voice sounds better than ever, adding the weight of history to songs that were poignant to begin with." -Rolling Stone

Loudon's new recording High, Wide & Handsome: The Charlie Poole Project was nominated for a Grammy as Best Traditional Folk Album of 2009, but his work of the last 40 years blends folk, country, and rock with irreverent storytelling and ironic humor. Loudon's wit is sharper than ever, but the bite has more insight than before. Like contemporary Randy Newman, Wainwright finds what's funny in the details and his music has been bringing those details to entertaining life for decades.

Admission: $36 members $33
