I Capture the Castle, a delightful coming-of-age novel by Dodie Smith (also author of The One Hundred and One Dalmatians), has been adapted for the stage by Cari Flynn of The Slackville Players.

Narrator Cassandra Mortmain chronicles the financial struggles, hilarious misadventures, and unexpected joys her family experiences while living in a castle in 1930s England.

The cast features Caitlin Lee, of Plainville, as Cassandra Mortmain; Stephanie Grinley, of Franklin, as Rose Mortmain; John O'Halloran, of Weymouth, as James Mortmain; Yasmin Sabrah, of Boston, as Topaz Mortmain; Jonathan Shulman, also of Franklin, as Stephen Colly; Brenda Ladoulis, of Norfolk, as Mrs. Cotton; David Lebahn, of Somerville, as Simon Cotton; and Kevin Lee, also of Plainville, as Neil Cotton.

Permission to stage this rehearsed reading is granted by Laurence Fitch Ltd/Film Rights Ltd. I Capture the Castle will be performed Saturday, October 14, 7 p.m., and Sunday, October 15, 3 p.m., at Crossway Church, 282 Summer Street, Franklin.
