Publick Theatre Boston Presents THE REAL INSPECTOR HOUND, Previews 9/2-5

Publick Theatre Boston (http://www.publicktheatre.com), a resident company of the Boston Center for the Arts (BCA), will present Tom Stoppard's The Real Inspector Hound September 2 - 25, 2010 (Previews are September 2 - 5) at the BCA Plaza Theatre, 539 Tremont Street, South End Boston. Characters and conventions collide in Stoppard's layered and witty indictment of the English "whodunnit", merging murder mystery clichés with a satirical send up of insouciant newspaper critics that results in a hilarious cautionary tale for all who put their ego ahead of Art. Directed by the company's Artistic Director Diego Arciniegas. Performances are Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 - Fridays at 8, Saturdays at 3pm and 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm. Moon and Birdboot, two mediocre theatre critics, have gone to review yet another murder mystery, set in the parlour of "charming but isolated" Muldoon Manor. When the fog rolls in, it becomes clear that more than one person has ulterior motives for being at the show. Reality and theatricality become intertwined - then indistinguishable - as doubt falls on whether or not a play, or the perfect murder, might be in progress.

Design team includes Dahlia Al-Habieli (Sets), Jeff Adelberg (Lights), Molly Trainer (Costumes), and John Doerschuk (Sound). Casting to be announced soon.
