Phoenix Theatre Artists and Company One are proud to present the return of last season's smash hit, THE SUPERHEROINE MONOLOGUES, for a limited engagement at the Boston Center for the Arts. Based on an idea byPhoenix Theatre Artists' Artistic Director Greg Maraio, the play is written by two of Boston's most talented playwrights, Rick Park and John Kuntz.

Touching, funny and campy, SUPERHEROINES is an action-packed parody that travels through the decades.Beginning in the 1940s, the play is a glimpse into the life of each heroine set against the backdrop of women's evolvingrole in society. From Catwoman in the psychedelic ‘60s, to Supergirl in the ‘80s and Dark Phoenix in the present day, the heroines share what it's really like to be a woman with super powers. Touching, funny and always campy, thesedynamic divas promise to answer questions you never dreamed to ask.

About the Production Following the world premiere of THE SUPERHEROINE MONOLOGUES in April at Boston Playwrights Theatre, the castand crew received hundreds of requests to produce the show again. For September's production, audiences can expecta more interactive experience, including more music and a number of new supporting characters.

A few heroines havenew secrets to tell, and there will also be more interaction between the heroines as they travel through time."Although we were always confident that SUPERHEROINES would do well, we underestimated the number of peoplewho would feel a connection to the show," said Greg Maraio, Artistic Director for Phoenix Theatre Artists.

"When weconsidered bringing the show back, it never crossed our mind to just keep everything the same. We listened verycarefully to what our audience loved most about the show, and gave them more of it.
