All New Production of the Beloved Classic Fiddler on the Roof is set for the Ogunquit Playhouse Stage, Starring Sally Struthers and Eddie Mekka

Emmy Award winner Sally Struthers and TV's Eddie Mekka return to the Ogunquit Playhouse to star in Fiddler on the Roof, May 28th through June 21st. Winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, Score, and Book, it features the classic songs "If I Were A Rich Man" and "Matchmaker Matchmaker."

Fiddler on the Roof has consistently been a top preference in our audience surveys. "We are beyond thrilled to premier a brand new production of Fiddler on the Roof starring Sally Struthers and Eddie Mekka. We are literally ripping up four rows of seats and thrusting the stage out 12 feet into the audience to place much of the action in the audience!," exclaims Bradford Kenney, Executive Artistic Director.

Sally Struthers is a two-time Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award winner for her performances in television's groundbreaking series All in the Family, beloved star of stage and screen, and tireless advocate for underprivileged children throughout the world. Sally is a favorite among Ogunquit audiences and she is thrilled to playing Golde in this all new production of Fiddler, "This is one of the first musicals I ever saw and I fell in love with it then. Now I'm finally old enough and wise enough to play Golde. Mazel Tov to me!"

Eddie Mekka was seen in Ogunquit's production of Hairspray last season as Wilbur Turnblad. "I'm proud to be back in Fiddler On the Roof, and to be performing with Sally Struthers. Although Ogunquit is far from Las Vegas, where I live now, it is very close to where I grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts," says Mekka. Eddie is best remembered as Carmine Ragusa on the hit TV classic, Lavern & Shirley. He has performed in numerous television programs, feature films and Broadway shows as well as in the National Tours of "The Goodbye Girl," "Damn Yankees" with Ra Walston and Gwen Verdon, "Grease" with Cindy Williams and for the last 15 years in his favorite show, Fiddler On The Roof. Eddie most recently starred in "Hairspray" in LasVegas. He keeps busy between stage and television shows touring the country with his night club act most recently performing in the North End of Boston in a concert for the Italian Festival.

Another magical season of fantastic musical theatre continues at the Ogunquit Playhouse with The Producers, My Fair Lady, and Les Miserables, along with the New England premiere of the new rock n' roll musical featuring the music of Neil Sedaka, Breaking Up is Hard to Do.

The Playhouse will also present Disney's High School Musical in a special weekend matinees once each month from June through September. The Children's Theatre lineup includes Willy Wonka Junior, Fairy Houses the Musical, an original Playhouse

Main Stage ticket prices range from $39-58 per show and are available through the Box Office at 207-646-5511 or online at www.ogunquitplayhouse.org.
