OBERON, the American Repertory Theater's destination for theater and nightlife on the fringe of Harvard Square, has been bringing exciting and original programming to the space in 2011. The home of the A.R.T.'s hit productions of The Donkey Show, Cabaret and Prometheus Bound, OBERON also presents the work of local and visiting talent. The month of May brings many exciting new events:

May 5th and 6th at 8:00pm
BLINK
Produced by Jazz, Inc. Dance Company Travel through Time with our cast of characters as they flashback to that one moment that changed their paths forever. Meet your friends, old and new, for an unforgettable night of music and dance! Tickets $25-$40

May 8th at 8:00pm
SLOPPY SECONDS
Produced and presented by Axe to Ice Productions
The twisted minds at Axe To Ice Productions bring a revolutionary burlesque showdown, a high-concept show that offers two different takes on the same song. Tickets $10-$35

THE EMERGING AMERICA FESTIVAL
The A.R.T., Huntington Theatre Company, and the ICA/Boston have joined forces for the second annual festival featuring groundbreaking performance by American artists.
Events at OBERON include:

BEOWULF - A THOUSAND YEARS OF BAGGAGE by Banana Bag and Bodice
May 13th at 8pm and May 15th at 6pm
This SongPlay adaptation of the Old English epic poem Beowulf harkens back to the raw and rowdy storytelling of the Scandinavian mead halls. The show combines Weillian cabaret, 40's jazz harmony, indie rock, punk, electronica, and Romantic lieder into a cacophonous swirl.

THE UN-OFFICIAL GUIDE TO AUDIENCE WATCHING PERFORMANCE by Raphael Xavier
With special guests The Movement Specialists with Klaas Universal Entertainment
May 14th and May 15th at 2pm
Raphael Xavier shifts and plays with the rhythms of rap, break dancing, and narrative to draw parallels between the performer's body and the stage itself. The Movement Specialists, winners of New England's Best Dance Crew, join to kick the show off before Xavier takes the stage!

GRAND THEFT OVID by Eddie Kim
May 14th at 4pm
Middle and high school students turn into digital "puppeteers" as they operate characters from the video games World of Warcraft, Halo Reach, and Grand Theft Auto 4 to perform tales from Ovid's Metamorphoses.

CITY COUNCIL MEETING by Aaron Landsman
May 14th at 6pm and May 15th at 4pm
Borrowing tales from government meetings from half-a-dozen cities, as well as improvised testimony from you the viewer, this piece imagines public discourse as art and vice versa. Come early and you could end up as the Mayor of this night. Come late and you may lose your voice.

FORNICATED FROM THE BEATLES Created by Mikhael Tara Garver
Featuring Boston band The Everyday Visuals

A love song to American pop, a performance of simultaneous surround-sound stories, a rousing dance party, and a look into the lives of 10 music fans -- all from the generation after the generation that fell into bed to the songs of John, Paul, George, and Ringo.

FESTIVAL CLOSING PARTY featuring THE LISPS
May 15th at 8pm
The closing party features The Lisps, a band whose songs borrow liberally from vaudeville, science fiction, and Americana. Their hyperactive performances typically involve tambourines, wrestling, old filing cabinets, and film reels suspended by rusty chains.

TraniWreck is the legendary, award winning, cabaret variety show featuring gender-bending irreverence; Drag, Burlesque, Aerials and Performance Art. Tickets $15-$35

THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES
Presented by Brigham and Women's and Massachusetts General Hospital OBGYN Residents.
A series of monologues designed to celebrate women's strength and sexuality.
All proceeds will be donated to Close to Home, a local organization whose mission is to foster community-wide responsibility to prevent and reduce the impact of domestic violence. Tickets $30

Sunday, May 22nd, 2011 at 8:00pm
THE HOOT An evening of contemporary vaudeville, featuring fresh young performers from the Greater Boston Arts scene in a one-night-only extravaganza fusing vaudeville and indie spirit with a local twist. Tickets $14-$18

JUSTIN VIVIan Bond - DENDROPHILE

Presented by The Big Quiz Thing and OBERON.

RECKLESS PLACE AND CALAMITY CHANG PRESENT T&A Recent Prometheus Bound star Michael Cunio and burlesque royalty Calamity Chang team up to bring you a night set to the raunchy rock of band Reckless Place. Tickets $10-$12
