New Repertory Theatre to Stage OUR LADY, 4/3-27
New Repertory Theatre announces OUR LADY, written and performed by James Fluhr, APRIL 3 - 27, 2014. Performed in the Black Box Theater at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street, in Watertown, MA. Tickets are $36 and may be purchased by calling the box office at 617-923-8487 or online at newrep.org. Student, senior, and group discounts are available. The press performance will be Thursday, April 3, 7:30pm.
"We're so pleased to welcome James Fluhr to our stage," says Artistic Director, Jim Petosa. "This fearless, intimate, one-man performance is perfectly suited for our Next Rep Black Box Festival, where we hope audiences and performers can connect on a deeper level: emotionally, viscerally, and personally."
"James' involvement with this production goes far beyond his work as just performer and playwright," says Managing Director, Harriet Sheets. "His work onstage is equally matched by masterfully executed scenic design, both of which are beautifully crafted and expertly presented."
Fresh off huge success in the New York Fringe Festival, this dynamic, gutsy one-person performance piece reveals James Fluhr's stunning surprises through his own coming out as a gay man, created in response to toxic homophobia causing many gay suicides.
OUR LADY was originally workshopped as part of the Boston University (BCAP) School of Theatre's New Play Initiative.
