Tickets are $25-36 and may be purchased by calling the New Rep Box Office at 617-923-8487 or visiting newrep.org. Group discounts and subscription packages that include The Testament of Mary are available.

The press opening will be Monday, February 1 at 7:30pm.

"We continue our third annual Next Rep Black Box Festival with an insightful one-woman play by author and playwright Colm To?ibi?n," says Artistic Director, Jim Petosa. "His moving and perceptive narrative explores the relationship between a mother and her son, her love for him, and her grief after his death. It is our hope that this work can reveal something vital and transcendent that resonates across time and place."

"We're pleased to welcome back New Rep favorite Paula Langton in her very first solo work on our stages," says Managing Director, Harriet Sheets. "New Rep audiences will remember her from our productions of Bakersfield Mist, Amadeus, and Assassins, and we're thrilled to welcome her back for this amazing one-woman show. We are equally delighted to see her grace our stages back-to-back, as she transitions from our Black Box Festival directly into our Mainstage production of Blackberry Winter beginning in March."

Years after her son's death, Mary, mother of Jesus, is visited by the Gospel writers seeking the truth. In an honest, insightful, and moving first-person narrative, Mary recounts her son's final days. Based on the novella by author and playwright Colm To?ibi?n, this Tony-nominated play provides a stunning glimpse into the heart and mind of a grieving mother as she's left with the question: was it worth it?
