New Repertory Theatre Announces Special Event KEEPING FAITH: SISTERS OF STORY Image

New Repertory Theatre presents Keeping Faith: Sisters of Story, a special event with music where three storytellers from different faiths come together with the goal of bringing people together in the name of peace, curiosity, and similarities. Tickets available for one night only in the Black Box Theater at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA. Tickets are $19- $38 and may be purchased by calling the New Rep Box Office at 617-923-8487 or visiting newrep.org. Student, senior, and group discounts are available.

"We're delighted to offer Keeping Faith: Sisters of Story as part of our New Rep Presents series, additional programming that further continues the conversations we explore during our season", says New Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Jim Petosa. "At such a time of division of hatred, we're in a unique position to use theatre as a gateway for empathy and understanding. This is truly an extraordinary and necessary performance."

"We couldn't be happier to have Rohina Malik return to the New Rep stage", says Managing Director Harriet Sheets. "Unveiled, her one-woman show, was positively terrific last season, and we're certain her new performance will equally delight and inspire audiences."

With the recent uptick of hateful and vitriolic language in this country, Rohina Malik, a Muslim storyteller, set out to create a project dedicated to showcasing peace and commonalities between us all. She approached Susan Stone, a Jewish storyteller, and Kim Schultz, who identifies as a Christian storyteller, with an idea: what if they all told stories from their faiths with the goal of bringing people together in the name of peace, curiosity, and similarities among the faiths? Both Kim and Susan jumped at this opportunity and Keeping Faith: Sisters of Story was born.
