O.W.I. (Bureau of Theatre), a resident company at the Boston Center for the Arts, continues its second Spring/Summer season of free play readings at the Roslindale Branch of the Boston Public Library with playwright Fabiola Decius' MAN OF THE HOUSE, directed by Cliff Odle.

Since his father's passing a few years ago Whiz has taken on the role as the "man of the house". His mom relies on him to take care of his younger siblings and manage many of the household chores, while she works additional shifts as a nurse just to make ends meet. With a truant seventeen year old sister and a missing eleven year old brother, Whiz must decide if he will to stay close to home and be the man of the house forever or accept the scholarship to his father's alma mater on the opposite coast.

Fabiola Decius received her MFA in playwriting from Lesley University and O.W.I. (Bureau of Theatre) is proud to present this qualifying public reading, which allows her to submit, "Man of the House" for the Michael Kanin Playwriting Awards Program, including the Lorraine Hansberry Playwriting Award, presented each year by the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival.

This free reading of MAN OF THE HOUSE will be held on Saturday, June 10 at Noon. Roslindale Branch of the Boston Public Library, 4246 Washington St, Roslindale, MA 02131
