Lily Tomlin to Celebrate Mohegan Sun's 10th Anniversary
Lily Tomlin and the cast of Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In will help Mohegan Sun Casino celebrate their 10th Anniversary on October 20th and 21st
Mohegan Sun Casino, which opened in 1996, has exponentially expanded the entertainment options available to audiences in Southern New England. Mohegan Sun has three separate performance spaces, The Wolf Den, where all performances are free, the three hundred-seat Cabaret Theater, and the Mohegan Sun Arena. The Wolf Den was the first performance space to open at the casino, with the Cabaret Theater opening a few years later, and the Arena opening a few years ago.
For Broadway fans, the Cabaret Theater provides an intimate, comfortable, space where audiences can see performances by the most celebrated artists of our time. In comfort, size and acoustics it is equal to any showroom, anywhere. Dozens of Broadway performers, including legends Patti LuPone, Joel Grey and Carol Channing have played the Cabaret Theater.
The Cabaret is not the only performance space in the Mohegan Sun Casino that has hosted Broadway performers. David Cassidy, Debbie Reynolds, Sheena Easton and Jack Wagner, who have all appeared on Broadway, have given free, full-length performances in Mohegan Sun's Wolf Den. Gladys Knight and Linda Eder have played Mohegan Sun's Arena.
On Friday, October 20th, Lily Tomlin will perform at the Mohegan Sun Cabaret Theater to celebrate Mohegan Sun's 10th anniversary. Ms. Tomlin's performance will combine elements of her multi-award-winning one-woman show The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in theUniverse, along with classic characters from Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, such as Edith Ann, Ernestine, Mrs. Beasley and Angus. After the show, she will engage the audience in a short Q and A session.
On Saturday October 21st, members of the original cast of Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In will be sharing the Cabaret stage, presenting some of their favorite clips, sharing some of their most amusing memories, and providing an inside look at what went on behind the scenes. Cast members expected to appear include Ruth Buzzi, Judy Carne, Henry Gibson, Arte Johnson, Gary Owens, Alan Sues, Lily Tomlin and JoAnne Worley and frequent Laugh-In guest star, Barbara Feldon (who also played Agent 99 in Get Smart)
