Liars & Believers Launches into Experimentation with Immersive IRRESISTIBLE

Liars & Believers (LAB), continues its risk-taking experimentation with its latest collaborative innovation, IRRESISTIBLE. This newly devised show, featuring the LAB ensemble plus a local video artist, rapper, dancers, and musicians, will be presented for one night only on January 24, 2018 at 8pm at Sonia at the Middle East, 10 Brookline Street in Cambridge, MA. Tickets are Pay-What-You-Can (Suggestion $25) and are available at the door and in advance at www.liarsandbelievers.com/irresistible. Admission to IRRESISTIBLE is 18+ and there is a full bar available during the show.

Devised collaboratively by the LAB ensemble, under the direction of Artistic Director Jason Slavick, IRRESISTIBLE is an exploration of the social forces tearing at the fabric of our Nation. IRRESISTIBLE leaps from politics, violence, and #Resist all the way to sex, fashion, and chocolate cake, diving into the desires and fears rocking our contemporary world. IRRESISTIBLE is the LAB's latest "coLAB." In this experimental project, exciting local artists from different disciplines and backgrounds share ideas, respond to one another, and create an immersive experience that surrounds the audience as soon as they enter the space.

Liars & Believes has been called "inspired" by The New York Times and "the region's most experimental and visionary artists" by The Boston Survival Guide. With IRRESISTIBLE the LAB continues to push the boundaries of theatre. "I'm excited to collaborate with Boston artists I never knew before, and
stretch our creative muscles in new ways," says dancer/choreographer Shaina Schwartz. "Working on a scale like this, with so many moving parts and semi-like minded individuals is intriguing. It's not the average collaborative effort, nor is it the average performance piece," says video artist V.Kash. IRRESISTIBLE is also the introduction of theatre to Sonia, the new Middle East venue, broadening the offerings at the Middle East. Aaron Roy, venue manager says, "We are excited to present a local company, and to expand theatre to Sonia."

In a continuing effort to expand the accessibility of live performance, tickets will be on sale in a pay-what-you-can format. The LAB's goal is to make live performance available to all. According to IRRESISTIBLE producer Becca Leifer, "We want our work to be as accessible as possible to all types of audiences. If this is a performance that you want to see, we want you here. We don't want the price of the ticket to get in the way of that."
