The American Repertory Theater expands its 2015/16 Season programming with the OBERON Presents series, featuring a range of artists, companies, and programs. Up next is KANSAS CITY CHOIR BOY, with music and lyrics by Todd Almond, and featuring Courtney Love and Almond. The production runs tonight, October 1, through October 10, 2015.

Directed by Kevin Newbury, with choreography by Sam Pinkleton and musical direction by David Bloom, KANSAS CITY CHOIR BOY is a theatricalized concept album about love altered by unexpected fate. A mystery told through flashbacks, the show tells the story of two lovers in small town America who separate when one goes in search of destiny and then disappears.

Borrowing themes from ancient myth, the show features songs by acclaimed composer/lyricist Todd Almond performed by rock icon Courtney Love and Mr. Almond. They are joined by a chorus of sirens and musicians.

This is a love song for the computer age and a product of the 24-hour news cycle that feeds on the stories of the anonymous "missing."

OBERON is the American Repertory Theater's second stage, a destination for theater and nightlife on the fringe of Harvard Square. In addition to offering work from the A.R.T's main season, OBERON is also a thriving incubator for emerging and local artists. Home to thousands of performances and artists since opening in 2009, the venue regularly features thrilling performers including aerialists, poets, food artists, tap dancers, gender-bending sketch troupes, comedians, hula-hooping burlesquers, and many more.

OBERON is located at 2 Arrow Street at the corner of Mass Ave. in Harvard Square, Cambridge. For more info and tickets visit cluboberon.com.
