Jackie Hoffman Joins Provincetown Broadway at The Art House Series
Jackie Hoffman, the Broadway star of The Addams Family, Xanadu and Hairspray, and of TV's new series The New Normal, from Glee creator Ryan Murphy, will appear in a new show on September 22nd and 23rd at 7:30 pm, when she brings a hilarious close to this summer's star-studded Broadway at The Art House series, hosted by Sirius XM Radio star Seth Rudetsky at the piano.
The Second City alum Hoffman has also been seen in the films Kissing Jessica Stein, Garden State, and John Waters' A Dirty Shame. On television she's also been featured on 30 Rock, Strangers With Candy and as a frequent guest on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. She has also appeared on Curb Your Enthusiasm, portraying a homely woman who attempts to pass herself off as a model to her blind boyfriend – though according to Hoffman, she nearly didn't get the role. "Larry David looked at me and said, "she's not ugly enough!" she remembers, adding… "that's the nicest thing any man's ever said to me."
Last summer's Jackie Five-Oh! show opened the then brand-new Broadway at The Art House series in Provincetown. In it, the blisteringly funny, filter-free Hoffman mused on her own decay, as well as about her experiences playing Grandma in The Addams Family and a host of other topics such as Haiti and Hollywood, and was called "hilariously grumpy" by Time Out New York. Her new show, which lands at Broadway at The Art House on September 22nd and 23rd, fittingly closes out the second season of what has become Provincetown's premiere entertainment series – and is guaranteed to be another music-filled laugh-party that no fan of outrageous comedy will want to miss!
*Broadway at The Art House is sponsored by The Anchor Inn Beach House, Cape Air, and Ptown Bikes.
