Heart & Dagger Announces STILL, NOW

Heart & Dagger Productions presents still, now by Katie Bender. Performances begin May 4th at Martin Hall in the Boston Center for the Arts. Performances continue through May 13th. Tickets are $28-$33 and can be found at www.bostontheatrescene.com and 617-933-8600. Group, senior and student discounts are available.

Katie Bender's 2015 Kilroys List play, still, now, confronts us with the accelerated motion of a woman learning and losing her body, accompanied by the doctors, teachers, friends and lovers that become her partners in movement and asks the question: what can our bodies teach us that our minds cannot fathom?

After witnessing the fall of the twin towers, Annie heads to Japan to study Butoh, looking for a dance form that expresses the destruction she can't comprehend. Ten years later, Annie is diagnosed with stage four cancer and returns to Butoh to prepare for her final dance. Elliott Norton Award winner Kiki Samko (Dog Sees God) takes on the role of Annie. Ms. Samko is a celebrated Boston actress and dancer who's been featured prominently by Heart & Dagger, Happy Medium Theatre, imaginary beasts, and the Gold Dust Orphans.
