For Month of June, the Provincetown Theater Debuts 4-Star Solo Show Festival Image

A celebration of diversity, the 4-Star Solo Show Festival at the Provincetown Theater will feature four star-turn performances that, variously, include outrageous comic characters, Broadway belting, bilingual jokes, disco dancing, a countertenor aria, a real life behind-the-scenes look at what it's like to be a gay porn star, and a guest appearance from "Scream Along with..." Billy Hough.

And this is how it works: Each week from June 5 - 27, a different performer will hit the stage on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7:30pm.

(See specific show schedule below.) Individual tickets are $20. However, as a special discount for local folks just getting their bearings for the summer season, we're offering a special deal: a 4-Star Festival PASS to see all four shows for only $40.

To purchase individual tickets or our festival pass, please visit www.provincetowntheater.org, or call 508.487.7487. Beginning in mid-May, tickets and festival passes can also be purchased at our new Community Downtown Box Office, 230 Commercial Street, open daily from 12noon - 8pm. Or at the Provincetown Theater box office, 238 Bradford Street, Provincetown, MA daily from 1 - 5pm on non-performance days, and 1 - 7:30pm on days of performances.

And our 4-Star stars are...

LIZA LOTT in Minnelli! The legend! - June 5 & 6
The Provincetown sensation kicks off the 4-Star Solo Show Festival with a band new rollicking homage to Judy's girl, Halston's muse, and that Oscar-winning survivor who may, in fact , actually outlive us all. Pour in Liza Lott's jaw-dropping voice, and we've got a star the Boson Globe rightly heralds "A knockout!"

Migguel Anggelo in Welcome to La Misa, Baby! - June 12 & 13
This Venezuelan-born performer whips up a John Leguizamo-esque tornado via a multitude of characters out for a wild night at a gay, latin nightclub. Outrageous costumes, a plethora of jokes, it's a tour de force which includes Anggelo's soaring countertenor vocals that New York Magazine calls, "A Must-See!"

Nora Burns in David's Friend - June 19 & 20
The hilarious veteran comedienne of Unitard and the Nellie Olesons unwinds a startlingly personal tale of her coming-of-age in the discos and after-hour clubs of Boston and New York City, lead by her daring and dazzling BFF, David. A New York Times Critic's Pick, Charles Isherwood hails it, "A feisty and funny one-woman show!"

Chris Harder in Porn to be a Star - June 26 & 27
From South Dakota farm boy to gay porn superstar, Chris Harder (his real name) gallops through a gallery of goofball characters in this whack-a-doo world - often wearing nothing but a smile. (For adults only, contains nudity.) As Out Magazine proclaims, "Harder turns go-go into theater, and boylesque into a must-see event."

With a history rooted in the original Provincetown Players of 1916, the Provincetown Theater is owned and managed by the Provincetown Theater Foundation (PTF). Sponsorship for the 2018 season is due, in large part, to the generous support of WOMR, 102.3 Dunes FM Radio, Hook, the Provincetown Tourism Fund, the Schoolman Trust, the Palette Fund, and in a partnership with Provincetown Magazine.
