FSPA Presents Annual Spring Concert May 14

By:

The Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA) will hold its Spring Concert on Friday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m.; Saturday, May 14 at 4:00 and 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, May 15th at 1:00 and 4:00 p.m. at the Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium., Horace Mann Middle School. This 26th annual event features performances by FSPA students in all levels and disciplines of dance and musical theater, with appearances by the FSPA Youth Choir, the Groovemasters percussion ensemble, Jazzcrewe, the FSPA performing troupes and dance companies, and the international touring ensemble, Electric Youth.

FSPA's Spring Concert is presented in an audience-friendly 90-minute format. "We are able to present five different shows throughout the weekend entertaining our audiences with a varied program including live accompaniment," notes FSPA Director Raye Lynn Mercer. "All styles of music are represented with many different disciplines of dance. The shows will feature the work of eighteen choreographers and directors from the FSPA faculty."

Tickets to Spring Concert are $15 and $12 for each performance, depending on the seat location. Tickets are available in advance from The Spotlight Shop, 34 Main Street, (508) 528-2887 or at the door.

Founded in 1985, FSPA brings all performing arts disciplines together under one roof, offering Music, Dance and Drama training to both students interested in serious study and those who enjoy the arts for recreation. Beginners are welcome, and classes are available for students who wish to begin or return to the performing arts as teenagers.

Following the Spring Concert, prospective students are invited to try a complimentary class at FSPA. Classes continue at The School through June 20th. For more information regarding any of FSPA's programs or to schedule a trial class or evaluation, call the School at (508) 528-8668 or visit online at www.fspaonline.com.
