FSPA Musical Theater and Dance Ensembles Present Holiday Showcase 12/2

By: Nov. 21, 2011

The Franklin School for the Performing Arts' (FSPA) musical theater troupes, dance companies and the FSPA Youth Choir will present a Holiday Showcase on Friday, December 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium, Horace Mann Middle School, 224 Oak Street in Franklin. Accompanied by a live professional ensemble, this all-student performance will usher in the holidays with an entertaining evening of song and dance.

Featured numbers include a vocal arrangement of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Believe from "Polar Express", a jazz rendition of Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer and Happy Hanukah, My Friend.
FSPA's musical theater performing troupes and dance companies are cast each school year by audition. The members of Broadway Light, Broadway Bound, and BLT2 are triple threat performers who study music, dance and drama. Curriculum for these students includes advanced work in ensemble singing, vocal and acting technique, and various disciplines of dance.

The senior ensembles travel to Walt Disney World in Florida during April vacation, where they perform on Disney stages and take classes with Disney performers, choreographers and directors. The FSPA Musical Theater faculty includes Director Raye Lynn Mercer, Tracy Lane, Nick Paone, Kim Rezendes, Kellie Stamp and Hallie Wetzell.

For tickets to the Holiday Showcase, please visit the Box Office at The Spotlight Shop, 34 Main Street, Franklin or call (508) 528-8668.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students/seniors. Further information regarding performing ensembles and all classes is available by contacting the FSPA office at 38 Main Street or by visiting the school's website at www.fspaonline.com
