FPAC Announces 2010-11 Season

The Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) has announced its 2010-2011 season of productions. The season kicks off with The Wedding Singer, a rollicking period musical set in New Jersey in 1985, to be performed October 22 and 23 at the Franklin Country Club. FPAC's popular annual production of Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker and the Company's holiday hit ‘Tis the Season will be staged on December 11 and 12 and December 18 and 19, respectively, at the Thomas D. Mercer Auditorium at Horace Mann Middle School. Little Women, based on the classic children's book by Louisa May Alcott, will be presented on March 11 and 12, 2011.

In addition, The Company has slated the 4th annual Whatever Theater Festival for August 2011. This event will feature Shakespeare on The Common, one-act plays, and special musical performances.

The Franklin Performing Arts Company was founded in 1991 and is dedicated to the promotion of the performing arts, with a focus on and commitment to youth development. A distinctive suburban non-profit arts organization, FPAC presents quality performances while offering opportunities for professional artists, amateurs, families and students of the arts to work together in a collaborative and creative environment.

The Company has been expanded to serve more than 50 communities, with audition calls yielding more than 200 prospective performers. Some productions involve more than 250 members of cast and crew. All FPAC shows are cast by open audition.
FPAC has performed many successful concerts, ballets, musicals, comedies and dramas including The Nutcracker, The King and I, The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, Little Shop of Horrors, West Side Story, Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night's Dream and Macbeth, Seussical the Musical, Cinderella, Into the Woods, Footloose, Anything Goes, Cabaret, The Secret Garden and many more. Auditions for FPAC productions are open to the community and family participation is encouraged.

FPAC programming is supported by corporate sponsors, individual friends and benefactors, playbill advertisers and by the FPAC Golden Circle of Patrons. A season kickoff celebration and reception for Golden Circle members will be held on Friday, October 8th at 8 p.m.at FSPA, 38 Main Street. New Golden Circle members are welcome! A membership meeting for all cast members, friends of FPAC and prospective participants of the holiday productions is scheduled for October 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Franklin Country Club.

Auditions for The Wedding Singer are September 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts at 38 Main Street.
