Cape Rep Theatre presents Summer Starlight an Evening with Ellen and Dermot Mulroney benefitting Cape Rep Theatre. Cape Rep is honored to have acclaimed film actor Dermot Mulroney and his mother, actress Ellen Mulroney one night only in the reading of a new, short play Peter Pan's Mother written by Christine Emmert, followed by a conversation with Dermot Mulroney on Monday, July 15 at 6:00 PM. To celebrate this special evening patrons will enjoy a pre-reception with music by the Bart Weisman Smooth Jazz Group and a preview of Cape Rep's next musical, The Mystery of Edwin Drood. A post-play reception with the actors will conclude what is sure to be a very memorable night. Dermot Mulroney has appeared in over 65 films with starring roles in such hits as: My Best Friend's Wedding, Stoker, About Schmidt, Longtime Companion, The Family Stone, Young Guns, The Wedding Date, Where the Day Takes You, The Last Outlaw, The Grey, and soon to be released August: Osage County. Dermot has appeared in numerous T.V. programs including Fox's New Girl and HBO's Enlightened, and will star in the upcoming NBC series Crisis.

Ellen Mulroney has graced numerous stages the past 35 years. Her first appearances with Cape Rep were in The Real Inspector Hound and The Mousetrap. Some of her favorite credits include: The Bad
Seed, A Perfect Ganesh, Agnes of God, The Glass Menagerie, Look Homeward, Angel, and Harvey. For years Ellen portrayed Jeannette Rankin, the first U.S. Congresswoman, in Year of the Woman.

Cape Rep Theatre's 2013 Indoor Theatre season opened with Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning play, Anna Christie, directed by Maura Hanlon followed by the hugely successful 9-Ball, running June 20 through July13, written and directed by local playwright, Art Devine. Next to open is the Tony-winning Broadway Musical hit, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, music, book and lyrics by Rupert Holmes, directed by Victoria Flores with Musical Direction by Scott Storr which runs July 25 through August 24. The ground-breaking musical, Next to Normal, music by Tom Kitt, book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, directed by Kristin McLaughlin with Musical Direction by Scott Storr runs September 19 through October 13 and we will close our season with a Surprise to be announced...running November 7 through December 8.
Our Outdoor Theatre features summer performances for children and their families and opens on June 25 with Dinosaur Pirates from Outerspace!, a new musical by Maura Hanlon running at 10 am Tuesdays and Wednesdays and, Mary Wilson's popular, Pitter Patter Puppets at 10 am on Thursdays through August 29.
