Next to Normal, the groundbreaking Tony-winning musical, wowed audiences in 2009 and was one of the rare musicals to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The Goodman Family appears to be a "normal" American family but what is really happening behind that white picket fence? NY Times critic Ben Brantley calls it a "brave, breathtaking musical....no show on Broadway right now makes as direct a grab for the heart." The immediacy of Cape Rep's intimate theatre is sure to make Next to Normal an unforgettable theatrical experience.

Kristin McLauglin, director of Cape Rep hits Avenue Q and Spamalot! directs with musical direction by Resident Musical Director, Scott Storr. The cast includes Cape Rep company members, Chelsey Ristaino (The Mystery of Edwin Drood and Spamalot!) and Marty Brent (The Bottom of the Sky and Spamalot!) and newcomers, Nikki Van Cassele, Matt Ferrell, Matthew Corr and Christopher Sheehan.

Cape Rep Theatre's 2013 Indoor Theatre season opened with Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning play, Anna Christie, directed by Maura Hanlon, followed by Art Devine?s acclaimed 9-Ball and The Mystery of Edwin Drood directed by Victoria Flores with musical direction by Scott Storr. We will close our season with a Surprise to be announced...running November 7 through December 8.

Our Outdoor Theatre features summer performances for children and their families and opens on June 25 with Dinosaur Pirates from Outerspace!, a new musical by Maura Hanlon running at 10 am Tuesdays and Wednesdays and, Mary Wilson?s popular, Pitter Patter Puppets at 10 am on Thursdays through August 29.
