Broadway Producers to Host WHAT Gala

By:

Broadway Producers John N. Hart, Jr. and Hal Luftig are hosting this year's summer gala at Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater. Players Ball: Caribbean Magic Edition is on Tuesday, July 28 at 5:30 pm.

The event begins with sizzling tropical cuisine by Jenn Mentzer of Mac's Parties and Provisions (vegan & GF options available) and music featuring Wellfleet's own Ukaladies with special guest Lisa Brown. Entertainment continues with a performance by Cape Cod African Dance and Drum and a live auction with guest auctioneer Hunter O'Hanian. Experiential auction items include trips to Cuba, Paris, Manhattan, Costa Careyes, Mexico and more. The evening concludes with dancing and desserts.

John N. Hart, Jr. has produced over 15 Broadway and Off Broadway shows, including the Tony Award-winning "Once" and "The Glass Menagerie," starring Cherry Jones, the Nathan Lane revival of "Guys and Dolls," the record-breaking revival of "Chicago," The Who's "Tommy," "Hamlet" with Ralph Fiennes, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" starring Matthew Broderick, "Annie Get Your Gun" starring Bernadette Peters, and "Seminar" starring Alan Rickman. Mr. Hart's productions have personally garnered him four Tony Awards. He has produced 17 feature films, including "Boys Don't Cry," "Revolutionary Road," "You Can Count on Me," "Proof," and "The Night Listener."

Hal Luftig shows have included Tony Kushner's "Angels in America," the 20th Anniversary production of Larry Kramer's "The Normal Heart" at the Public Theater, Twyla Tharp and Billy Joel's "Movin' Out." Hal has gone on to be one of the leading producers in New York and around the globe. Most recent works include "Elephant Man" staring Bradley Cooper and Tony Award winning "Kinky Boots." He has won four Tony Awards, including two as lead producer, and London's Olivier Award, also as lead producer.
