Blue Spruce Theatre Hosts Auditions For ONCE ON THIS ISLAND 5/10, 5/11

We are ecstatic to announce auditions for Blue Spruce Theatre's next production, Ahrens and Flaherty's Once on this Island. This Carribean gem of a show features Calypso music and fantastic opportunities for actors, singers and dancers of all types. Auditions will be running on the evenings of May 10 and 11, with callbacks on May 12. Full details about the audition process have not yet been determined, but we will be following up with that over the next couple of weeks. About Once on this Island:
This highly original and theatrical Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale "The Little Mermaid" garnered eight Tony nominations for its Broadway run, including Best Musical, Book and Score. In almost non-stop song and dance, the show tells the story of Ti Moune, a black peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest to test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and death.

Important Additional Casting Note
This show is traditionally cast with people who are ethnically appropriate to be living on the island of Haiti. We will be not be following any such restrictions, and all roles are open to people of all backgrounds.
