Arianna Knapp to Step Down as Artistic Director of North Shore Music Theatre

By:

North Shore Music Theatre (NSMT) announced today that Arianna Knapp will be officially leaving her position as Artistic Director effective December 31, 2013.

"I am very happy to have worked side-by-side with Bill Hanney and the fantastic staff at North Shore Music Theatre. I absolutely love what we have done together over the past three seasons. We have shown that NSMT is an amazing asset to the community." Arianna explained. "My life has changed over the past 3 years. With a new marriage and a new and larger family, I would like spend time in 2014 focusing on working side-by-side with my family at our home in Vermont, as well as continuing to develop on-going Broadway-bound projects with SenovvA, Inc., a company I have worked for, as a producer, since 2007."

Having been associated with North Shore Music Theatre on and off for over 25 years, Arianna Knapp rejoined the company in 2011 as Artistic Director. In that time she has worked along side Bill Hanney on creating a successful business model that allows North Shore Music Theatre to continue to grow both financially and creatively. She has been able to introduce new creative and performing talent to work at the theatre, and has brought new ideas to the annual production of A Christmas Carol, which she will direct again in 2013 before her departure at the end of the season.

"I am sorry to lose Arianna and her incredible talents that she has brought to North Shore Music Theatre over the years. However, I am so happy for her that she will be able to spend some well-deserved time with her family. Family is always a priority, and I will forever think of Arianna as part of the NSMT family." said Bill Hanney, NSMT owner and producer. "As I begin a search to find a candidate to assume Arianna's position as Artistic Director, I know that person has big shoes to fill."

North Shore Music Theatre will begin an official search for a new Artistic Director immediately.
