The American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater Institute for Advanced Theater Training presents the last production of the 2009-10 season, A History of American Film by Christopher Durang, directed by Thomas Derrah, and performed by the Institute Class of 2010. The production is presented in the Experimental Theater of the Loeb Drama Center, 64 Brattle Street, Harvard Square, Cambridge.

Performances are on May 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Poor orphan Loretta Moran finds herself as the accidental tour guide through a technicolor odyssey of American films where no movie is safe from satire. Joined by instantly recognizable archetypes such as the tough guy and the wisecracking broad, Loretta bumbles her way through history, musical numbers, and Hollywood-gone-haywire.

Director Thomas Derrah acted in over hundred productions at the A.R.T. and toured with the A.R.T. Company across the U.S., and worldwide. He has also been seen on numerous local stages as well as on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and many theatres throughout the U.S. His directing credits include the annual children theater production The Island of Anyplace at the A.R.T. among others; awards include the 1994 Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence, 2000 and 2004 IRNE Awards for Best Actor, and the 1997 Los Angeles DramaLogue Award. He is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama.

Ticket prices are $10 for the general public; $5 for students, and seniors, free to A.R.T. subscribers. They can be purchased at the Loeb Drama Center or by calling the A.R.T. Box Office at (617) 547-8300 or online at www.americanrepertorytheater.org
