The Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts was listed as one of the top 50 theatre venues for worldwide ticket sales in Pollstar's mid-year report. Pollstar is the only trade publication covering the worldwide concert industry, providing in-depth information to entertainment professionals for more than 25 years. The Morrison Center was listed 44th with 69,248 tickets reported for the period of 1/1/14 to 6/30/14. Ticket figures include selected national presentations reportable to Pollstar and not all events ticketed during that period.

"The 2014 Season was extremely successful," said James Patrick, Executive Director of the Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts. "Our Fred Meyer Broadway In Boise series included an unprecedented 24 performances of WICKED. We have some very strong presenting partners, including Magic Space Entertainment, that play an important role in our overall activity level. We are excited about continuing to reach new heights. The Founders of the Morrison Center wanted our venue to be known as 'The People's Theatre'. As more and more Idahoans and neighboring states visit us, we are fulfilling that mission."

Located on the campus of Boise State University, the 2,037-seat Velma V. Morrison Center for the Performing Arts is Idaho's premier performing arts center. Nestled on the banks of the Boise River, with a panoramic view of the city, parks and foothills, the Center's 10-story stage house is a recognizable fixture of the Capitol's picturesque skyline. The realization of a life-long dream of Harry W. Morrison, and championed by his widow, Velma, the Center opened its doors on April 7, 1984. Today the Center is recognized as a major destination for arts and culture, annually hosting hundreds of live entertainment and arts education offerings that serve to enrich the lives of patrons of all ages. As a Boise State affiliate, the Center is a non-profit organization supported by ticket sales, facility rentals, donations and the generous support of the Morrison Center Endowment Foundation, Inc.
