The 2015|16 BCT 20th Season is announced!

Oct 7 - Oct 31, 2015
A SKULL IN CONNEMARA
by Martin McDonagh

We're excited to open our 20th season with this play by Martin McDonagh, an Academy Award winning, 2 time Laurence Olivier Award winner and 4 time Tony Award nominated playwright. Like The Cripple of Inishmaan in our first season on Fulton Street and The Pillowman in 2008, A Skull in Connemara is a dark and laugh out loud comedy. Four Irish misfits find themselves wrapped up in a longstanding mystery. Did Mick the gravedigger (Arthur Glen Hughes) kill his wife? Mr. McDonagh is the first playwright since William Shakespeare to have 4 plays running simultaneously in London's West End. Come join us and see why. "Mr. McDonagh's great strength is that he combines a love of traditional storytelling with the savage ironic humour of the modern generation." -The Guardian (UK)

Nov 24 - Dec 19, 2015
Co-World Premiere
NO MORE SAD THINGS
by Hansol Jung

Ms. Jung was born in Korea, raised in South Africa, graduated from Yale University and after spending time with her sister, who lives in Hawaii, wrote a play about a thirty-two year-old girl from Akron, Ohio, who runs away to the Land of Aloha. There on a beach she meets a beautiful cliff-diver. There is a powerful connection, but it's definitely complicated. No More Sad Things was an audience favorite in last season's 5X5 Reading Series for its fresh sense of humor, original music and dreamlike inventiveness. We are proud to be working with such a gifted playwright at the beginning of what promises to be a long and celebrated career. Hansol is a new voice in the theater: intelligent, thought provoking and unabashedly contemporary. Please join us in welcoming this remarkable new talent to our stage. No More Sad Things is a Co-World Premiere with Sideshow Theater Company, Chicago, IL.

Jan 5 - Jan 16, 2016 (Tuesdays through Saturdays)
WHAT WENT WRONG?
by Lauren Weedman

Former Daily Show correspondent and star of HBO's Looking, Lauren Weedman returns to the BCT stage with new stories, live music and big laughs. Seattle's The Stranger has called the Indiana native "the funniest woman alive". LA Weekly described "her self-deprecating humor (as) not just funny (but) its excesses contain jaw-dropping revelations on the intersections of passion and fear." And our own Boise Weekly said it best with "simply put, Lauren Weedman is a brilliant storyteller." She's a Boise favorite and a good friend to BCT. We love welcoming her back to our stage. And she's just as excited to be returning and performing for you.

Feb 10 - March 5, 2016
CONSTELLATIONS
by Nick Payne

This play had its Broadway premiere just this past January starring Ruth Wilson (2015 Tony Award nominee for Best Actress) and Jake Gyllenhaal. It set Box Office records at Manhattan Theater Club's Friedman Theater. Constellations is the story of a brilliant physicist, her chance encounter with a beekeeper, and the infinite possibilities of love . . . The New York Times called Constellations "the most sophisticated date play Broadway has seen. It feels heaven sent."

April 13 - May 7, 2016
World Premiere
MARGIN OF ERROR
(OR, THE UNASSAILABLE WISDOM OF THE MOUSE AND THE SCORPION)

by Eric Coble

Winner of the first annual BCT River Prize, playwright Eric Coble (The Velocity of Autumn, Graphic Depictions) brings us the story of Harold Carver, the greatest political strategist the nation has ever known. But he's running four floundering campaigns, his personal and professional life face cataclysm, and he has no one to help him but his wide-eyed intern, Daphne, all while stranded at Gate B16 in the Boise Airport. A no-holds-barred dramatic comedy about how we choose our elected officials (and every other product) in this winner-takes-all world. The New York Times has described Mr. Coble "as hilariously funny (with) psychologically astute portraits (that) hit home with rib-tickling acuity."
