The Improvised Shakespeare Company
January 15, 8:00 pm. Tickets $28
Colonial Theater/Call 522-0471

Chicago's best improv comedy troupe creates "pop Shakespeare" on the fly! Based on one audience suggestion, the evening will feature Shakespearean language and tone with a twist of Monty Python-esque slapstick wordplay. The off-the-cuff comedy is fueled by smart plot development, stage chemistry and recognizable characters. iO Theater alumni include Mike Myers, Tina Fey, Chris Farley, Vince Vaughn, Amy Poehler, and many more!

Poor Again... Dagnabbit! A McManus Comedy
January 23, 8:00 pm. Tickets $28
Colonial Theater/Call 522-0471

Outdoor humor writer Pat McManus grew up in rural Idaho and was so poor that dirt was his favorite toy and gruel his most inedible staple. His latest comedy is based on elaborate exaggerations of his surreal adventures and is chock full of zany characters and dry wit. We aim to provide a stimulus package of laughter that will enrich the soul and hydrate the sense of humor.

CURRENT CARR GALLERY EXHIBIT

Jenny Balisle and Louis Pirro
November 12 - January 2, 2010

Because of the many layers, Ms. Balisle's paintery, abstract oils can take up to 3 years to complete and dry. Mr. Pirro often paints in an abstract style but draws upon his past experience as a professional illustrator to move freely between abstraction and illustration.
