Boise Contemporary Theater 5X5 Reading Series returns on February 10, 2014 at 7pm with OAKWOODS by Idaho Native Dano Madden.

At last George Marvin's life can begin -one that's as far away from the dying mountain town of Oakwoods, Idaho, as he can get. A national science fair superstar for inventing a simple pollution detector, George seems poised to win a desperately needed scholarship to his dream college. Even more amazing, it feels like Holly (science partner; secret crush) might actually like him. But when his pollution detector reveals a toxic secret about Oakwoods, George finds that he must risk giving up his dreams in order to save the people and the place he loves.

A long tradition in theater, the 5X5 Reading Series allows the audience, actors, directors and producers to experience the language of the playwright and assess each play's potential for future production. Listen to some of your favorite actors bring five of the best new plays in the country to life. Afterwards, participate in a discussion with the actors, directors and sometimes playwrights to complete your evening. Each Reading is performed ONE NIGHT ONLY!
