Although River City Entertainment is generally known for performing on Thunder Mountain Line, this troupe has recently started providing opportunities to see their improve/interactive shows without the train. The AEN Playhouse was set to the nines as a wedding reception hall, complete with a small dance floor, beautiful table centerpieces, and Chinese lanterns. We were quickly greeted by father of the bride Mr. Montgomery (John Roussopulos) and wedding planner Lacy Strapps (Alyssa Hill), who started us into the interaction with tasks that would later provide some of the dialogue and wedding toast. Enter mother of the bride, the ex-Mrs. Montgomery (Jodi Perry), and the drama heightens quickly!

Guided by the direction of Camilla and Mark Boylan, all the actors had great energy, despite a few moments where some seemed unsure of their next move, and once the audience started to respond to the action, the momentum only made for a better performance. I thoroughly enjoyed the audience-lead conversation between Wayne (Kerry Eames), Wanda (Kristen Olsen), and a surprise guest (Gianinna Damiano). Jodi Perry and John Roussopulos had great chemistry, and Alyssa Hill was a prefect catalyst to keep the story moving.

The songs were very entertaining, although L-O-V-E was often flat and there were a couple of major sound glitches. I was a little disappointed at the underwhelming and abrupt ending, but overall the show was great. I laughed throughout the entire show and look forward to the next one. Although this run is over, River City hopes to give an encore performance in January. More information on River City Entertainment at http://www.rivrcity.com.
