If you're on facebook, become a fan of Second Stage... A couple of times lately they've offered codes for $10 tickets ($11.50 with fee) at the box office. The latest ones were for dates that have passed, but it might be worth it.

They also send those discounts to your email if you've rushed with them in the past.
They do have a "Youth Rush" - I think it's 30 years and younger, or something like that? And it's fairly cheap. Like $30.
When I rushed the first preview, I was the first in line, and I was in the little "side" part. Wasn't the best seat, but I could see everything, so no worries.
I got my question answered, I showed up at 7:30 on the dot and got a rush ticket for L114. If I wasn't as blind as a bat in the daytime it would have been a perfect seat! Totally a viable option for any student! If I remember correctly from N2N, the 30 and under tickets were better seats....
ps the show was fantastic
"I've never encountered such religiously, you know, loyal fans as Broadway musical theater fans. It's amazing."

I think ~ from what my young enough friends have experienced ~ the difference is the rush seats are whatever is left over while you can book the under 30 tickets in advance, thus assuring better seats if booked that way.

They don't have a general rush. Just one for students ~ and then only if you're under 25.
If you're under 30, you can purchase "youth advance" tickets on their website. Enter the number of seats, and on the next page the youth advance option comes up. (You do have to show ID when picking those up.)
Playbill has a code for $50 tickets ~ PB50
Hope that helps.

I pulled the one I had off playbill this morning. The only one I saw was the $50. I think the $35 was earlier in the run. I didn't see any restrictions on it other than from June 2 - 13.
