Maybe they're just readying for April Fools Day? I tend to stay away from BWW and Broadway.com on April 1st. The message boards are the worst. All the newbies freak out and post dozens of threads on the same topic over and over again.

Do news websites really do that?

actually, I heard about this somewhere before - it's been awhile, so I don't have a link, sorry - but for some reason I seem to remember Patina Miller's name being attached to it somehow? maybe I'm making that part up, but I definitely remember hearing about the musical itself.

The 'photo coverage of James Barbour' certainly is interesting--

Not a joke - Berkeley Rep's website already announces "Girlfriend".

http://www.berkeleyrep.org/tickets/sub_plays.asp#gf

"Artists are always on the vanguard of change: they give the community a vision."
"Desire comes from the Latin "de sire", or "of the father", or "of the stars". We want what is magical, what is out there, what is of the stars. And so our characters should as well."
"If there are people who don't believe in you, don't hang out with them. Wish them well, wish them peace, and move on."

According to the Times, it is going to be on the stage at Berkeley Rep.
