With Clay Aiken in Spamalot, all of Broadway is singing a collective "There! Right! There!" -Me-

Must we hear Elizabeth Stantley's pushed belt again?

This is interesting. Elizabeth Stanley has been attached to LEAP OF FAITH for a while now, and that is supposedly heading towards an out of town tryout preceding a spring opening. What this seems to be saying is that either Elizabeth Stanley won't be involved with LEAP OF FAITH or that LEAP OF FAITH can't find a theatre and will be postponed.
That said- I would LOVE to see Max von Essen's Sonny.
Ugh, I was interested until Elizabeth Stanley's name was uttered. I'll wait for an official announcement hoping for a different name.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
I saw it in New York a week after the Tonys with the OBC minus Mary (Annie Golden was Amazing).
I hated it.
I am looking forward to seeing it in Chicago and seeing if I feel differently about it.
I could BARELY understand Kerry (who I love) through most of the show, and thought that most of the "acting" was atrocious. I saw the Sunday matinee after the Tonys and felt that EVERYONE in the cast was just going through the motions (besides Annie Golden), and I was left feeling like the show was just ... whatever.
I went in wanting to LOVE IT! Even bought a window card before the show because I was so positive that I would love it.
Needless to say I gave the window card to a friend who loves the show...because I sure didn't.
Hope the tour will make me feel something different. Updated On: 8/23/08 at 06:08 PM
It would be interesting to see what Elizabeth Stanley does with the role, but I'm leaning towards the negative. She is such a hard person to appropiately cast for parts, though she definately has the talent.
Any word on who is going to play Danny and the other muses?

I chose, and my world was shaken- So what? The choice may have been mistaken,
The choosing was not...

In my mind, the best people for the tour are Patti Murin and Curtis Holbrook, audiences never fail to fall in love with them as Kira and Sonny; they are so talented, and let's face it, they're adorable together.
Elizabeth and Max are fine on their own, but I do not see them in these roles.
"Hey little girls, look at all the men in shiny shirts and no wives!" - Jackie Hoffman, Xanadu, 19 Feb 2008
I adored Elizabeth Stanley in COMPANY, but thought she was awful in CRY-BABY, primarily because the show was so bad, and she looked way too old for the role she was playing.
I bet Max von Essen will be wonderful as Sonny.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."

My friend's roommate was offered Specialty Skater (Marty Thomas' track) and Female Swing...but she took another major tour instead.
