Is POTO the longest-running show ever in the world or on Broadway? Surely it's been running longer in London? Maybe it's something to do with amount of performances. What about Les Mis in London? By the way, when I say show, I mean a musical (not a play) that has reached Broadway at some point in its life. So I think that excludes The Fantasticks and The Mousetrap.

Phantom will be the longest running show on Broadway, not in the world. And I *think* Cats in London have the longest running record if you only count the productions that have shown on Broadway.

Cats in London closed on it's 21st Birthday to become the longest running musical; The Mousetrap, which opened in 1952, is the longest running theatrical production in the world.
