Yea, not sure if I like this, Lord of the Rings is opening as a musical in London 2005. It could be either really good or really bad. Personally I'd like it better if they made Harry Potter or Narnia or (ooooh goood idea) Pirates of the Caribbean into a musical instead. I'm sorry but the films were just toooo good, the story should be left alone, especially this soon.
this should be interesting....i don't think it'll be that good tho, idk exactly why... like, the lord of the rings never really apealed to me as the sort of "musical-like" works of literature. and now the movie makes it even less likely to be a successful musical. i wanna see what they do w/ it tho...
Just so you know-Narnia already is a musical. I performed in it a couple years ago. There was a CD made but it is not sold anywhere-our director received a copy along with the scripts. It was "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." The music was great...it's a shame it isn't performed often.
i love the LOTR books and the movies were great. but putting it into a musical? the entire movie is over 10 hrs long .. and ppl say that doesnt do the book justice .. how can a play be able to get in all the important things and not ruin it? grr . this is a same to Tolkien and the theatre world .. but i prolly would go see it .. go figure.
Though scattered and divided we are still its heart...AIDA SEPTEMBER 5th, 2004...one more longing backward glance...
I AM NOW "TGIF!"
I read the newspapers that they have already been in production of Harry Potter..... a ballet show though! Weird! I don't think LOTR would be gd! My CHICAGO the musical group!
