Hi

I looked at some recommendations and what I looked up doesn’t seem to peak my interest.

To kinda make this more concise Im a really big fan of a more “realistic” presentation. Over the top? That’s fine but I like stuff more a bit grounded in reality. I don’t really like the whole Marvel/DC superhuman thing that much, at least in a reading format. I was a massive fan of Punisher: Max, the couple of DC BL Batman comics, and of course Sin City was also great. I tried Preacher and I just couldn’t get behind it. The original Deadpool stuff and Suicide Squad are big L’s for me. I loved the Punisher omnibus until they threw in the marvel hero’s and I kinda blasted thru it cause I wasn’t interested.

When it comes to regular book readings my 2 favorites are The Road and Last Policeman series, if that’s of any help

Thanks!

The only one I can think of is the Sandman series by Neil Gaiman. U can buy individual volumes  there are 10 I think. Its.the tragic journey of Dream, one of the Endless, who after being imprisoned for over 70 years, escapes and rebuilds his kingdom anew and sets old wrongs right, along with a host of colorful characters, most notably his spunky punk-goth sister Death.

Within that framework, Gaiman weaves in other poignant, heartbreaking, and deeply relevant stories, with elements of dark fantasy, history, mythology and slice-of-life narratives carefully blended in.

Hey even William Shakespeare becomes a character at one pointwink

Locke and Key by Joe Hill is awesome. (He’s actually Stephen King’s son). Grant Morrison is writing Green Lantern right now and it’s pretty wild. But honestly most of Grant Morrison’s work is awesome. Maybe try some Warren Ellis too, he’s one of my favorites and recently wrote the Castlevania Netflix show too. Ed Brubaker also does some cool crime noir stuff, Kill or Be Killed borders a little more into the twisted dark side than his usual.

Maus- banned by Southern school boards recently. Now on Amazon best seller list because of it. If that’s not reason to buy, I don’t know what is.
