Obama White House Story

I got a reply from FB post today that was from a lady I was friends with in HS. That reminded me of a story she told several years ago that most of you on this board would enjoy. Her son is a well known and respected reporter for the NY Times and has appeared on political shows like "Meet The Press". Several years ago, he went to the White House journalist dinner and his date that evening was his mom. I assume before the dinner, the President and the First Lady pose for pictures with journalists. My former classmate and her son go up for their picture and she gets introduced to President Obama and the First Lady which is such a thrill for her. At one point, President Obama smiles and turns to her son and says he has great taste in dates. Of course, this made her day. Very sweet story, myself and the rest of her HS classmates were so happy for her.

In case anybody is wondering, the NY Times reporter I mentioned in OP is Michael Schmidt.
