Audience Rewards / American Airlines question

I somehow linked my Audience Rewards account with my American Airlines account and a bunch of my points are being turned in to miles.

So two questions:
1. How do I redeem for miles? Ive redeemed for show tickets before but not for miles. Is that on the American Airlines website somewhere and Im missing it?

2. Can I pick if I want show points or airline miles?

If they have already been turned into airline miles, I don't think you have a choice.  You may want to ask the Audience Rewards representative.  If they are now American Airline miles, (you can verify by logging into your account), when you are on the American Airlines website click on use miles option and it will tell you how many miles you need for a trip.  You were better off keeping them as show points.  You would have gotten more bang for the points with a show.

I know! I had no idea that these would be miles. Between 2 trips to Hadestown and 1 to Come From Away, I spent at least $600. I have to find a way to unlink the two because I’d rather have show points than miles. Hopefully the miles are added automatically to my American Airlines account. 

My Audience Rewards lists one American Airlines miles and the other two are pending. Maybe if I can get them separated in time, I can get points for CFA and one of the Hadestown trips.

Update! I played around with my Audience Rewards account and under account settings, you have the option to pick a default method of how the points are given to you. Mine was check off for American Airlines miles (I guess it did that automatically when I linked the two) so now I’m able to change it back to show points.

Just in case you didn't know, you can also get points by answering their trivia.  Most of my points come from there and it adds up quickly.

Even better update: After checking the show points box my American Airlines miles were turned in to show points! That happened automatically!

Scroll down to the bottom right corner and click on more ways to earn. You will see play trivia.
