I haven't read it anywhere else and just wanted to check. I have tickets for March and I don't want to deal with Telecharge if it's not really closing...

Playbill.com confirmed it as well.

I don't like to see any show close, but this was just a disappointing mess that squandered the talents of its cast.

Amen, Cm.

I hope Karen Ziemba and Diedre Goodwin will be put to more generous and effective use soon!

Even in NGD, Karen Ziemba was a marvel. She brightened up every scene she was in. If I were the producers, I would have axed the leading lady and put Ziemba in her role.

Ziemba and Goodwin deserved better than what they were handed. Goodwin, in particular, was wasted shamefully. Next to the anemic 42nd Street, this was probably the most boring and frustrating show I saw during my 21 show theatre trip.

And Mr. Racey!

I forgot about Mr. Racey. He does have charisma, and in a better show, he would be quite a star. He could improve his singing, but his dancing was first rate.

This may be a naive question, but why do these show end up like this? Isn't it someone's job to point out what's wrong with the show and have those problems fixed before the show opens? Or are these people so oblivious to what's going on? Is it ignorance? arrogance? NGD had potential, but they did little with it. I felt sorry for the performers because they work their behinds off for a show that doesn't deserve such activity.

oooh, cm, you are preaching to the chior about Karen! The Princess of Pep. And Diedre had practically nothing to do, except flash that fab diva 'tude and dance too briefly!

I thought it telling that one of the last ad campagins (and posters) for NEVER GONNA DANCE were of the "Shimmy With Me" number, with the leads flanking Karen who was placed front and center with her arms outstretched, weraring a dazzling smile.
