The Broadway casts of Miss Saigon and Aladdin did a very good thing this past weekend. They held a benefit for a fellow cast member whose husband was the victim of a paralyzing hit-and-run incident. Both companies got together at The Green Room 42 to sing some show tunes with the cast of Aladdin tackling the songs of Boublil-Schonberg and the cast of Miss Saigon taking on the works of Alan Menken. Some highlights include Telly Leung and Courtney Reed singing Last Night of the World and Sun and Moon from Miss Saigon, Jon Jon Briones and Katie Rose Clarke singing Suddenly Seymour from Little Shop of Horror, and Eva Noblezada, Paul Miller and Robert Pendilla doing a Disney medley of songs from Pocahontas, Hercules, and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I was in the front row and was able to capture the entire show on my phone. I’ve posted this on YouTube for anyone interested.
