Finally saw it last night and loved it. One thing occurred to me that I haven't heard discussed before. Although I highly doubt I'm the first to think of it, and I would think it might well have made an impression on the ODC company as they perform this play at the Booth.

I couldn't help think of the resonant parallel between the Wyeths and Edwin Booth, for whom the theater is named. The former a fictitious family bearing the scars of a young son/brother/nephew implicated in a politically motivated murder (this is revealed early on in the play, so I don't think it qualifies as a spoiler). The latter a famous actor who bore the scars of his younger actor brother having assassinated Abraham Lincoln.

Thanks for giving us that bit of information. I'm seriously considering seeing this play, when I arrive in NYC on Sat. March 10th. It all depends if the Washington Jefferson is able to secure a room for me, in time to see the show. from RC in Austin, Texas (in NYC from March 10-13, 2012)

"Noel [Coward] and I were in Paris once. Adjoining rooms, of course. One night, I felt mischievous, so I knocked on Noel's door, and he asked, 'Who is it?' I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

Here's hoping that all goes smoothly during your stay in NYC, Roman.

I expect to have fun. When I first went to nYC in 2006, I remember distinclty it being 11:30 p.m. in Times Square and 34 F. Is there a chance of snow sometime between March 10-13th? That's someething we very rarely get in Austin. I long to make a snow angel. With regards to Other Desert Cities, I'd love to meet Judith Light at the stage door...to congratulate her for ODC and also for Lombardi. from Roman in Austin, Texas

It was upper 50s yesterday, and snowing today, so who knows what the weather will be like!

I saw a Saturday matinee, and everyone except Stacy Keach and Rachel Griffith came out. They were all very sweet and took pics (including Judith Light and Stockard Channing) with everyone who asked. I highly recommend ODC if you're looking for a straight play!

Random question/bump: Has anyone rushed this show? If so, what time would you recommend getting there?
