Just read on Playbill.com that ALNM may now NOT close on June 20th and that Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch have been approached to take over as Desiree and Mme. Armfeldt. Even though I'm not a big fan of Nunn's production of this brilliant Sondheim show, the thought of these two ladies in those roles is pretty mouthwatering. If it's true, I hope it's still running with them in it in October when I'm hoping to get to New York next.

yes and the judi dench version was a more mature version of the show as i had a conversation with someone about the 95 nt version not long ago. she might be able to play young but hannah and catherine have both been young!

I couldn't sit through any kind of performance by Whoopi even if someone paid me to go! I just find her incredibly irritating.
