How about the AARP version with Stephanie Mills as Dorothy & Andrea De Shields as the Tin Man, Geoffrey Holder as the Scarecrow & Eartha Kitt as the Wicked Witch & Lena Horne as the Good Witch ?

i think someone new needs to play dorothy...dequina moore = perfect. and they can use the more well-knowns as the three companions or the wiz or one of the witches. but jason raize is too young for the tinman (he's supposed to be older and more mature) corey reynolds would be perfect as the scarecrow, and lilias would be a wonderful evilline. but sheryl lee ralph would be more of a glinda than an addaperle...the script calls for glinda to have class and such, whereas addaperle is like, random crazy old lady. and going by her history as deena jones and muzzy, she's def. too classy for the tired old lady.
