i thought the Quasimodo on the german recording was good, and he is american so there should not be any equity problems, lol, but he may be too old now.
i also thought Philip Quast from les mis would be a great frolo
esmirelda could be eden or even heather headley
as for the gargoyles, would be cool to have jason alexander and the guy from murphy brown to reprize their roles, but it seems the gargoyles arent as humourous as in the movie so that may not work too good.
in the end i would not really care who they cast, i just wish they would do it cause the sets are amazing
and
WERNT THEY SUPPOSED TO BE DOING A LIVE ACTION MADE FOR TV MOVIE ABOUT IT???
WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT

Phillip Quast is a good choice. As are Espinosa and Ramirez for Esmeralda. Maria Conchita Alonso would probably make a sexy Esmeralda also.
Ernie Sabella is another obvious choice for Hugo and Patrick Wilson would be a hot Phoebus.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
yeah I wonder what happened to the plans for the live action movie. The news is till up on www.musicalschwartz.com so hopefully those plans haven't been forgotten. They really should bring this to Bway. It's my fave Disney movie. I think Mandy Gonzalez would be an ideal choice as Esmeralda. I really like the idea of George Hearn as Frollo briliant choice! And I think Quasi should be played by someone new. Please Stephen Schwartz and Alan Menken...beg Disney to bring this bway!

"Picture "The View," with the wisecracking, sympathetic sweethearts of that ABC television show replaced by a panel of embittered, suffering or enraged Arab women" -the Times review of Black Eyed
The Disney movie has the ending where Phebous and Esmeralda finally get together and Quasimodo finally feels belonged. The Disney Berlin Musical ending has Esmeralda dying after almost being burned at the stake.
maybe Matthew Morrison, the reason why I don't think Adam Pascal won't work, not that I hate him, l love him. I just don't think his rock like voice could work with the score. On the Berlin cast, Phoebus is played by a baritone. Maybe a fresh face would have to work there because I can't really think of anyone right now that could work.

OMG my friend and I planned this entire show out like months ago late late late one night so of course i can't remember anything...except Hugh Panaro was the hunchback and the two of were the only chorus members.haha. now that I've seen her I think Sara Ramirez could be good as Esmeralda.
