I wonder if the writer of the playbill article just happened to have seen the show last night and assumed that the spitting was a one-time thing? When I saw it in April, he spit on a woman in the 2nd row because she was late, and because when he was berating her, she rolled her eyes and had an attitude. He had incredible aim though....he managed to make an arc with the water so it went over the first row and directly onto the woman and no one else.
"Wish he'd have done it to the person in front of me at the 10pm show last night. Like full on asleep."
I kinda feel sorry for people who fall asleep at shows. Sure, they could've had too many drinks at dinner. But maybe they're on medication. Maybe it's jet lag. Maybe they have allergies and they popped a Claritin and hoped it wouldn't make them drowsy, but it did. As long as they're not snoring, I'm not bothered by it.
I did sit next to a snorer once. I gently put my hand on his arm and he quietly woke up. Hey, we lead busy lives, it happens. Certainly not a cause for being spat at , unlike the egregious practice of using a cell phone during a performance.
'Our whole family shouts. It comes from us livin' so close to the railroad tracks'
This show is SOOO loud i can't imagine somebody falling asleep unless they were medicated, especially sitting up close. It was freakin loud were i was sitting.

Maybe this is just me, but I think falling asleep while someone is more insulting than someone is performing using a cellphone or even snapping pictures. Anyone else?
I can forgive sleeping, because how often does one consciously do it? I've fallen asleep in (admittedly substantially quieter) shows not because I was bored, but because I was absolutely exhausted and sitting in a dark room.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
I'm not sure I want to be at a show where performers share their bodily fluids with me.
I don't know. If some of Bryan Cranston's bodily fluids ended up on my face, I wouldn't care so much. Neil Patrick Harris?...I'll pass.
I agree about the sleeping. I've sometimes gone to shows the evening I get into the city from FL. I usually leave at 6am, get no sleep on the plane, get to the city, deal with the crazy traffic, get food, etc. There's occasions I've made it to a show, a great one, and I've fallen asleep without meaning to, not completely out fallen asleep, snoring like crazy, but my eyes have closed and I've been out for 5 minutes before in spite of myself. I'd much rather have someone fall asleep than the annoying-as-F*CK girls I had to deal with at one of the shows I went to a few months ago: taking selfies, reacting loudly to every single line, talking to each other, and texting throughout. I wish I could've spit on them.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
