re: DESIRE UNDER THE ELMS Reviews  Apr 28 2009, 10:20:30 AM
LOVED it!!!! Gugino's performance is by far the show stopper, just incredible! :)
re: Andrew Lloyd Webber and Glenn Slater to collaborate on new stage version of THE WIZARD OF OZ  Apr 3 2009, 02:34:05 PM
Will the Phantom make a special appearance? I am thinking perhaps as a flying monkey? This news deserves an "OH CRIPES" and a big fat "OH BROTHER!" :)
re: Shrek Worth Seeing?  Mar 31 2009, 12:43:21 PM
I thought Shrek was cute. If you can win lotto, I'd go see it.
re: HAIR Review  Mar 16 2009, 10:32:23 AM
Thanks for the review CS, I couldn't agree more :) I agree with WBAF too, WSS may be a better written show, but this current revival of HAIR is incredible and (for me) was better than WSS. I am in love with Will Swenson at the moment, having never seen him before, this was a great first introduction to him :) I am looking forward to seeingit again in two weeks when my brother comes to visit! GOOD TIMES!
re: IRENA'S VOW Rush  Mar 11 2009, 12:44:04 PM
My bad. I have a friend that confused her for Amy Sedaris so I thought you were thinking of the same person. But thank you for trying to throw it in my face. You are sweet.
re: IRENA'S VOW Rush  Mar 10 2009, 07:22:30 PM
"She was fabulous on "Sex and the City" too!"

Tovah is a WONDERFUL actress and well worth going to see, but she was not in Sex and the City, you may be thinking of Amy Sedaris who played Carrie's book editor with Molly Shannon.

re: Sardi's  Jan 15 2009, 03:46:19 PM
Calvin, too funny....and SO true! I am in Chicago visiting the parents this week, my mother is always so worried that the restaurants they take me to aren't as nice in Chicago as they are in NY....considering the few places she like to go when she comes to see me in NY, I am wondering what she is basing this off of! HA!
re: Sardi's  Jan 15 2009, 02:31:43 PM
Definitley for drinks and dessert! Calvin, my mother is the SAME way. Everytime my parents come to visit, we HAVE to go to Sardi's! HA!
re: Paulo Szot really reminds me of someone...  Jun 9 2008, 10:51:54 AM
I thought Hand Azaria too!

Oh Paulo! That man is sex on stage!

re: Others roles you could see Lupone in...  Jun 9 2008, 10:50:44 AM
I am not meaning to sounds like a jerk, but the thought of her playing Cassie makes me laugh a little. One, she is too old. Two, she isn't really in prime shape to play a dancer. Yes, Cassie is older, but she is still in great shape and can dance her ass off. I really don't care to see Miss LuPone in a red onsie, she is 59 years old!
re: News About Tyler Hanes in PerezHilton.com  May 6 2008, 05:30:51 PM
God I hate Perez!
re: The Little Dog is Not Happy About Chicago's Prudishness  Feb 6 2008, 12:44:21 PM
Penis or no penis, it is a great show!

HOWEVER, in t his case, I have to agree with the author, it makes the show make A LOT more sense if they nakedness (is that even a word) is included in the show. Diane's lines are lost if they keep their undies on. But, regional threater seems to like to keep the clothing on. However, I know Chicago's Balliwick is doing a rip off of Naked Boys Singing called Naked Lads Singing and from what my friends say they have NO problem being naked! HA!

re: Gypsy marquee  Jan 28 2008, 12:07:05 PM
Yawn on this one....VERY underwhelming, but I think the show speaks for itself. Lupone....Gypsy....nuff said.
re: Steel Pier  Jan 12 2008, 11:56:23 AM
This was one of the first shows I saw when I moved out here. I remember sitting in the rear balcony and ther ewas MAYBE 10 people in the entire balcony, so we all moved to the 1st row. I liked the show, Debra Monk was FANTASTIC! But I still remember my ex boyfriend totally falling asleep along with about 4 other people sitting next to us.
re: Best staging of a musical number?  Jan 7 2008, 10:57:08 AM
Staging wise, I have always loved the movement and timing of the opening in Into The Woods. It just works so well.
re: Biggest emotional breakdown for a male character in a play.  Aug 23 2007, 09:30:07 AM
"90 percent of the male cast of Angels In America"

Agree 100%! HA!

re: Sarah Silverman as Penny Pingleton?  Jul 24 2007, 08:26:40 PM
I have to agree, it would be HYSTERICAL to see Sarah on stage, but she is a little too old to be playing Penny...
re: MATT DOYLE in for Groff in SA 07.14  Jul 16 2007, 06:00:06 PM
I was there too! I was a little upset to see that Groff wasn't there, I took my friend who had never seen the show. BUT, Matt Doyle did a great job. A little hoarse at time and struggled a couple times, but overall, I thought he was good.

I agree that Lea seemed a little more "nervous" with him, which really worked out well. The rest of the cast supported him 1000% so it was really wonderful to see a bit of a fresh twist on the show.

The audience ATE the show up!

re: Passions 'Wicked' Tribute  Jun 29 2007, 03:04:59 PM
That was GREAT!!!! :)
re: Pippin Revival, Please?  Jun 29 2007, 10:35:57 AM
How great would that be! Michael Arden as Pippin...I am buying tickets now (in my head).....

Now, here come the daggers at me...Megan Mullaly would be a great Fastrada! (Shields Up!)

I would love to see Tim Curry play Charlegmene!

Ashley Brown would make a lovely Catherine. I could even see Phoebe Strole rockin' as well.

Cheyenne Jackson would be great as Lewis!

Let's throw Tyler Hanes in there too....just for fun and some eye candy
