sbflyfan - The stagedoor is actually on 17th, like someone else said if you go out the side door near the stage and turn left it's RIGHT there, you really can't miss it.

I went again last night, won the lotto again, and sat front row. It was so much fun, again. They did change the lotto so you have to get there between 5:30 and 5:45 to get a ticket. And the stagedoor was a little different, they had a different, bigger barrier up so the actors can come out into the crowd without getting

Broadwayrob - Were you guys huddled in that little indentation to get out of the rain? If so, then I definitely saw you, lol. The whole lotto screw-up was absolutely ridiculous. Everyone was so worried they wouldn't be able to get to their seats in time, but it seemed to work out okay. They're changing it for tonight, though, thank god.
re: RENT tour thread  Jan 7 2009, 02:52:10 PM
Robert - I agree. I didn't know anyone else when I showed up, and just starting meeting random people, mostly by mocking the weirdos. Are you going at all again this week? (PM me if you want ...)
re: RENT tour thread  Jan 7 2009, 02:46:40 PM
HA. I was in the second row so I missed out on that, luckily. Why can't people just sit still during songs? I mean, I suppose I understand tapping your feet, or clapping along when it's appropriate, but it's really not hard to sit still otherwise.
re: RENT tour thread  Jan 7 2009, 02:32:21 PM
Coolkid, last I knew every theater had to do some form of lottery or rush.

And I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking sing-alongs are annoying and inappropriate.

re: RENT tour thread  Jan 7 2009, 02:17:29 PM
Seriously. The whole I'm-wearing-a-cowbell-because-I-have-ADD (that's what she said) and "I'm the biggest fan ever so I need to sing the whole show before I see the show" is ridiculously annoying.

Most people came to the show to hear professionals sing and it only annoys people when these fangirls or whatever you want to call them start freaking out. As for the girl in Cleveland with the cowbell ... one of the girls I was talking to told her if anyone started singing she would stab them

re: RENT tour thread  Jan 7 2009, 01:55:26 PM
Yeah. There was some weird thing that happened during Happy New Year right before it goes to the answering machine ... someone's timing or something was off but I couldn't tell who messed up.

Robert ... did you see her in the lottery line? I probably saw you there, lol. She was SO annoying! First of all she was the ONLY one singing and she didn't get the hint to shut up. And later on, after I had begun talking to a few random people, she came over and invited herself into our conversati

re: RENT tour thread  Jan 7 2009, 01:47:49 PM
I thought she did. I know some people are worried or are saying she needs to improve, but I thought she did a good job.
re: RENT tour thread  Jan 7 2009, 01:30:32 PM
The show itself was great. For being their first official performance together I thought they did a great job.

I saw Adam and Anthony twice on Broadway, but last night I won lotto and it seemed like a whole different experience from the second row. I hadn't seen the show itself in a year or two ... and to avoid sounding super cliche or whatever ... it was kind of like seeing it for the first time again.

There were a couple technical errors, but that's obviously beyond the actor

re: RENT tour thread  Jan 7 2009, 01:02:22 PM
LOL. I was waiting for this.

I went last night, and the audience wasn't bad at all. There were a few teenage girls behind me that screamed at inappropriate times, but other than that everyone seemed pretty composed. People did, however, clap along to the beginning of La Vie Boheme, which I've never heard.

The stagedoor was another story.

re: Rent tour; 'two significant changes to the production'  Jan 5 2009, 01:35:27 PM
Anyone going tomorrow night in Cleveland?
re: 2009 Rent Tour Dates Announced  Apr 15 2008, 04:25:00 PM
Wow, I am now even more happy I recently moved to Cleveland!
re: BEWARE OF JERSEY BOYS RUSH!  Aug 1 2006, 12:34:59 PM
I was third in line, and so I didn't even really notice him at first. He said, "Here's some water, you guys have been waiting for a long time." And then someone asked who he was (?), and he laughed and said that he plays Frankie in the show. He brought enough that everybody got two bottles. Yeah, he definitely seems like a nice guy. And I'm sure everyone appreciates the water, especially since it was, and is so hot outside.
re: BEWARE OF JERSEY BOYS RUSH!  Aug 1 2006, 12:15:00 PM
I waited for 4 hours and I definitely think it was worth it.

And popular_elphie, I had the same reaction. I was just kind of out of it and he just walked by and dropped a bag of water, haha. I know a couple of people in line behind me had him sign their water bottles, and he was kind of like, "um, okay..."

re: BEWARE OF JERSEY BOYS RUSH!  Aug 1 2006, 11:43:11 AM
"Or maybe JLY will just bring us some."
Hehe.

I went to the show the week before last, got there between 12:30 and 1 and I was third in line. So you should be fine popular_elphie.

re: Broadway in Bryant Park  Jul 27 2006, 09:50:28 AM
I'll be there! I'm bringing my friend who is here visiting me. Two weeks ago I got caught in front of two older ladies who wouldn't stop talking the entire show...let's hope they stay home this time.
re: Love is what we do! - THE WEDDING SINGER appreciation thread.  Jul 26 2006, 12:18:48 AM
I saw the show for the first time tonight, and I thought it was a lot of fun! Understudies were on for Linda and Debbie. Stephen Lynch was very impressive, and also very nice. I must say that I liked Amy Spanger and Kevin Cahoon as well.
re: OFFICIAL BRYANT PARK 2006 BWAY PERFORMANCES THREAD  Jul 6 2006, 03:22:05 PM
Right, I was looking at a little flyer thing that had them listed differently.
re: OFFICIAL BRYANT PARK 2006 BWAY PERFORMANCES THREAD  Jul 6 2006, 03:12:10 PM
I got there at 11:30 and it started shortly after.
