Just sending out a general message: Waited for 5 1/2 hours for Jersey Boys tickets on Saturday. THEY ONLY HAVE 12 RUSH TICKETS AVAILABLE. So beware. We got there a little before 7, didn't get our tickets until 12:30. AND THEY WERE STANDING ROOM ONLY. Just putting the general message out there...get there at 6 if you plan to go Saturday!
I made a list of all your faults, it was quite detailed and lengthy too and when I read it through I missed you. Your like a classic Eagles song, you just cant help but sing along even though it sometimes gets annoying too. I just know I want to be wherever I can wake and see you there next to me. **High Fidelity**

So you must have been waiting in line with me? LOL. I dropped my friend off at 6:15...there were 3 people ahead of him. I parked the car on 43rd and walked back and there were 3 people behind him already. Crazy huh?
HAHAHAH thats hilarious! Yep, we were the people who were the cutoff for seat tickets. First in line for the standing room. I left my sister in line at like 9 am so I could run over to Wedding Singer to get tickets....nice to see a fellow jersey boys rusher on here. Totally insane line!

And as a side note, groups that go there and get all the tickets are not being nice to the other people that come early to wait in line. And I'm sure the box office people and cast don't think highly of you for taking the rush tix away from others.
I was only getting two tickets as were all of the people that were there on Saturday. Not sure if that was directed towards me...I don't think it was.
Edited to add: I think students are the only people crazy enough to wait the 5 hours in the heat to see the show. The show is definitely worth the wait.

ouch thats a little harsh. I waited out there for over 5 hours, i think i deserves to get those tickets. I got up at 2:30 in the morning to drive to NYC got there at 6:00 parked the car in queens took the subway - didnt get in front of the theatre till 7:00, I think i deserved it. Ouch, a little harsh huh? I guess in some people's world if you don;t have the money, you don't deserve the tickets.

I'm rushing Thursday for my last time this summer, and I really, really hope I get tix. At least I won't have to get there at 6...at least, I better not.
Thursday is a night show. We were rushing for the matinee. I think if you got there by 11 or 12 you would be fine. Plus it is supposed to be hotter than hell out, so I doubt many people will want to wait in that heat.
I definitely get you. Going shopping tomorrow to get some waters to be prepared. Or maybe JLY will just bring us some .
I posted that thing before because a friend told me that a group got there Sunday at 5 AM. There were six of them, and they each wanted two. Is that unfair, or what?
Wow, rush seems to be pretty crazy now! Maybe it's because it's a Saturday.... are Wednesdays that bad as well? I did a Wed. matinee last month and I was second in line at 7:20 am.
I personally don't think it's fair that groups take all the rush tickets. I mean yes, it's great they all want to see the show... but they're taking away from others that want to see it as well. If they want to see the show that badly why can't they just use the group discount?
Good god, I commend people who wait for hours like that! I'll admit I'm one of the crazies who'd do that hahaha
I'm contemplating doing rush next week or the week after on a wednesday. I did it before.. but eversince hearing those saturday rush reports I'm wondering how weekdays are!
I waited for 4 hours and I definitely think it was worth it.
And popular_elphie, I had the same reaction. I was just kind of out of it and he just walked by and dropped a bag of water, haha. I know a couple of people in line behind me had him sign their water bottles, and he was kind of like, "um, okay..."
JLY actually gave the student rushers water? That was really nice of him. Maybe if the jerks on this board who constantly slam him and his attendance read this they would actually realize what a great guy he is. Ok, now that would be asking too much. I am just sick of people using him for a whipping post! Updated On: 8/1/06 at 12:21 PM
I did rush last Sunday (23rd). It was actually about 5 hours before showtime, and he just comes up to me (I was the first one) with a bag of water, and is like, "Hey, how are you?" and I was like, "...Huh?" and he said, "This water is for the first ten of you. Good luck, you guys." He's always been a pretty nice guy - no idea why he gets to the theatre so early, though.
The hours spent in the rush line may be uncomfortable, but they're definitely worth it come show time.
How very nice of John to do that! I can just picture your reaction popular_elphie hahaha What time did this happen? You must have been really groggy that morning. I'm usually up in a snap in the morning... quick stop to starbucks and I'm up the entire day lol
I was third in line, and so I didn't even really notice him at first. He said, "Here's some water, you guys have been waiting for a long time." And then someone asked who he was (?), and he laughed and said that he plays Frankie in the show. He brought enough that everybody got two bottles. Yeah, he definitely seems like a nice guy. And I'm sure everyone appreciates the water, especially since it was, and is so hot outside.
I think this was at like, 9:30 or 10 am, and the show was at 3 that day. The girls beside me were kind of freaking out about it after he left, and there were people that missed him, and they came up and said WHAT'D HE SAY??!?!?!?
I had been in the rush line since about 5:45 in the morning (I had woken up at 3:30), so I was pretty tired.
