LA CAGE AUX FOLLES to Close on Broadway May 1; Tour to Launch in October  Apr 6 2011, 05:52:00 PM
I was at the matinee this afternoon. I am sad to see the show close, but I'm not surprised. As much as I like the new cast, I have to say that the magic is gone.
The two shows you MUST see this spring are...  Feb 17 2011, 12:19:30 AM

Roger Rees, Rick Elice, Bartlett Sher, Jack O'Brien, Alexandra Socha, Maxwell Caulfield, Bobby Cannavale, Sutton Foster and Adam Bock were all in attendance at A Small Fire on Friday night.

Loretta Swit Takes Cash/Personal Check/American Express/MasterCard & Visa  Jan 2 2011, 06:21:45 AM
I hate to disappoint you Eris0303, but Loretta Swit does not pose for pictures. I've seen the show with 14 different casts, and she was the first actress to turn down photo requests. She was respectful about it.

When I saw the show, she flatly refused to sign a picture from M.A.S.H. brought by a collector/reseller. They didn't see the show, and I totally agree with that action. The staff at the Love,Loss stage door makes it clear that the actors will only sign items from the show, and d

NYMF 2010  Oct 7 2010, 12:46:27 AM
I have seen Frog Kiss twice in the past week, as well as many other shows. I'm sorry I haven't had time to share my thoughts, but here are a few.

Frog Kiss: A very cute, very fun show. The dancing is amazing (particularly Curtis Holbrook, who is a triple threat!),and the score is very light and happy.

Things as they Are: Beautiful, meaningful show! The score reminds me of Sunday. Garrett Long is incredible in the lead as famous photographer Dorthea Lange. The book captures the

I said it goes nowhere (and I'm not the only person who's seen it to have that opinion), and I'm a fairly good judge since I've seen 101 NYMF productions. We'll just agree to disagree on this one.

NYMF 2010  Sep 30 2010, 08:45:09 AM
I don't have time to do full reviews of what I've seen so far, but here are some brief thoughts.

Therapy Rocks: Very good book, hard rocking score a fantastic cast (Rachael Stern, Dee Roscoli, Allie Schulz, Josh Davis and Adam Halpin). The staging of the performances by the entire cast remind me of Spring Awakening).

Roofless (reading): One of the most original ideas I have ever seen, a gangsta-themed graphic novel set to a Hip-Hop score. The entire cast was good, but Alan

bundy5000, When I got a picture with the Spring Awakening cast in 2007, I got there 15 minutes before. Everything worked out.

It's the photo ops with Kristin and Sean that have me really worried as to when to get in line.

sgv123, the frame is signed.

Here I Am, Alice has been signing in bubble letters since n2n was at Arena Stage. I doubt that's going to change now!

Rain Date for the Flea Market?  Sep 24 2010, 12:17:49 AM
According to the National Weather Service, it's going to be mostly sunny and 72 on Sunday.

You'd be betting correctly Eris0303. I will be one of the people requesting that Alice Ripley/Marin Mazzie picture.

I also have to agree with you on the Kristin Chenoweth photo issue. It is very bright at the photo booth, so the flash won't be an issue. Besides, it's won't be the same as at an awards show or a red carpet where you have multiple flashes going off simultaneously and frequently. I think Kristin will be fine.

Recommendations for NYMF?  Sep 7 2010, 10:04:16 PM
Every year I attend NYMF, I seem to miss one of the must see productions. That's not a problem I'll have this year. I've scheduled my vacation so that I will be able see every full production at least once, and several twice. I'm looking forward to the challenge of seeing 38 performances of 30 shows in 14 days!

The lineup will get better, it always does. It won't surprise me a bit to see Bernadette added to the list.

That being said, I'm not that disappointed with the lineup so far. The prospects of a Dan Lauria/Judith Light photo op have me very excited!

Viagra Falls Posts Closing Notice  Aug 26 2010, 04:23:18 PM
I'm not surprised. I saw this in July, as one of few in the audience under 50. It was never going to build an audience with that demographic. The size of the Little Shubert also hurt. It might have lasted longer in a smaller house.

And the Tony for Best Replacement goes to...  Aug 25 2010, 03:01:51 PM
I agree with a lot of what you said muscle23ftl, but I have to agree with lsinger2 on one point.

Marin's portrayal of Diana is drastically different from that of Alice Ripley (and Amy Spanger at NYMF). Somehow, it seems more subdued, more human. There are many subtleties in her delivery of lines, her expressions, and her phrasing that make this character seem that much more real to me. It's not as intense of a portrayal as Alice's. It's different, but I won't say it's better. I love all

La Cage and Tenor Stage Doors  Apr 14 2010, 09:39:03 AM
I can understand someone not being allowed to take a picture with someone, but how exactly does someone not all a picture to be taken OF them. Are the Kodak police going to come and arrest you if you take a picture of him. Is he a gremlin or vampire, and a picture of him is going to turn him to dust?

I'm sorry if I'm ranting, but that whole picture of thing has always ticked me off. The sidewalk (as far as I know) is public property. No one can really stop a picture from being taken OF

Show Advice - Miracle Worker or God Of Carnage?  Apr 2 2010, 01:50:03 AM
I think they're contracted for 6 months, provided the show doesn't close. The theater was 1/3 empty when I saw it Wednesday night, which can't be a good sign.
