I searched for a board, couldn't find one, so if there is indeed one, I'm sorry.
What big stars have you seen in the audiences of shows you've seen? I saw Chris Rock at Little Mermaid, Shirley MacLaine at Seussical, and Tom Hanks at the same show. I actually was dumb enough to say, LOOK, IT'S WOODY!! And everyone applauded and crowded him. I was only 9.
Oh! And we saw John Tartaglia at Xanadu.

At Cyrano De Bergerac, Ben Affleck was sitting across the aisle, Phoebe Cates was in front of him, and Angie Harmon was a few rows back. At Chicago (Usher's opening), Clive Davis sat directly in front of us, Penelope Cruz was a few rows back, S. Epatha Merkerson and Gabrielle Union were also nearby. Sat behind Tony Goldwyn at the Drowsy Chaperone. Saw Donald Sutherland at the Lion King. At Gypsy at City Center, saw Barbara Cook, Victor Garber, Michael Serveris and Stephen Sondheim.

Tyra Banks at In The Heights in Feb 2009.
Mario Cantone a couple rows behind me in the mezzanine at The Women in 2001.
John Waters at August Osage County--January 2009
Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, Wyatt Russell directly in front of me and Victor Garder behind me at L'il Abner in 1998.
Didn't see them in the audience, but Patricia Heaton, Laura Bennett stage doored at "The Little Dog Laughed" in January 2008. Patricia was a pill, Laura was all smiles.

My idea of "celebrity" is a bit weird. I mean, Kevin Spacey at Spring Awakening in the West End, that's a pretty good sighting, and Susie Blake at the same is all right too, albeit not quite at the same level.
Trevor Nunn was at the last performance of A Little Night Music at the Chocolate Factory; similarly, I can't quite stop spotting Dominic Dromgoole at the Globe (Macbeth and Henry VIII, not to mention mingling with the crowd at the open day).
I've seen Tim West and Derek Jacobi at the Donmar Warehouse (both A Streetcar Named Desire), Jamie Parker at the National (London Assurance), and Dominic Rowan at the Globe (Macbeth). Oh, and Luke Neal, Lenora Crichlow, and Charlie Cox at the Young Vic (all just in the bar before shows actually), which appears to be this summer's It Place to spot people in London, as long as you're not after Hollywood A-listers. And Sir John Mills came to my school play once, that was nice.
So of the twelve names, how many do you recognise? If anyone's heard of more than seven, I'll be SUPER impressed with you. And if anyone's heard of all twelve, I think we need to be friends. XD

Posted: 7/30/10 at 3:52pmThe eeriest was a fight I witnessed mid-afternoon in the otherwise empty lobby of the Alemedia Theatre in London (as I was picking up tickets for PLENTY starring Cate Blanchett) between John John Kennedy and Carolyn Bessette. They were beautiful people, beautifully dressed and obviously very unhappy. A week later they died in the plane crash in Martha's Vineyard.

Bunches...and I don't tend to remember these sort of things.
I sat next to Susan Sarandon at Fela! (off bway)
Neil Patrick Harris at Shrek. (He made my daughter, 10 at the time, swoon.)
and...yup, that's all the old memory is releasing.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

The most famous people I've seen were Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick (along with Andy from that show Watch What Happens on Bravo) at La Cage Aux Folles a couple weeks ago.
Also I sat a few rows in front of Neil Simon at Next to Normal last May.
And I don't know if this really counts, but Sondheim stood behind me at A Little Night Music back in December.
